Tralice Ann Leaumont

Tralice Ann Leaumont went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13th.  She slipped away peacefully after enduring years of chronic pain, fighting a heroic battle against organ failure, breast cancer, Parkinson's disease and arthritis.  She never lost faith nor questioned God's will.  She used her suffering to witness to others, demonstrating how to find comfort and joy in God's grace under staggering adversity.

She was born October 16, 1946 to Albert Jack and Sarah Elsie Bronson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of three daughters.  Her father worked for the Air Force, frequently moving the family throughout her childhood.  Her dad was an avid hunter and fisherman and made sure his girls could bring home the prey and clean it too.  She loved music and dancing to the 60's classic rock and roll.

After graduating from Friend High School of Friend, Nebraska in 1964, the family moved back to Oklahoma.  She became a dental assistant in Norman, Oklahoma where she met her husband to be, Richard Leaumont.  After a courtship of sixteen months, 1966 marked the beginning of a 50 year marriage.  Upon graduation from the University of Oklahoma, Richard was commissioned in the US Army.  Tralice began her life as an Army wife.  She loved it, all 28 years of active and reserve duty.

Tralice gave birth to four children in the 70's, son Jeffrey, daughters Stacy, Danielle and Aimee. Being a mother was the highest calling in life for her.  Richard's work with the Internal Revenue Service moved the family to Pasco in 1980. She was a stay at home Mom.  Being involved in her children's lives was her joy - supporting their sports, 4-H projects and learning was her career.  Gardening was another passion and her yard bloomed throughout the growing season.

As her children started graduating from high school, she became a Para educator in the Pasco School District working with learning difficult children.  Helping these struggling children gave her great satisfaction and joy.  Failing health forced her to take disability retirement in 2001.

Her classroom was soon replaced by twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Being surrounded by grandchildren lifted her up and cheered her as she fought her disability.  She was a long time member of Kennewick Baptist Church and never stopped growing in Christ.

She is survived by her mother, sisters Carol Johnson and LaDean Gordon of Oklahoma, four children, son Jeffrey Leaumont and wife, Renee of Richland; daughters Stacy Leighton and husband Brian of Pasco, Danielle Wilcox and husband Jordan of Coeur d'Alene, and Aimee Kovis and husband Daniel of Pasco.  Twenty grandchildren,  Reilan Leaumont, McKenzie Leaumont, Kyndal Leaumont, Kortlyn Leaumont, Garett Marshall, Sheyenne Marshall, Freddy Bunch, Gracie Leighton, Raider Leighton, Jacob Coleman, Tyler Chilton, Cody Chilton, McKenna Chilton, Brayden Chilton, Brooklyn Wilcox, Ryder Wilcox, Jaxon Wilcox,  Patrick Kovis, Caetlyn Kovis,  and Ryon Kovis; three great grandchildren, Braydon Coleman, Kyler Chilton and Silas Marshall.

Viewing will be held Thursday (17th) evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at Einan's Event Center at Sunset Gardens in Richland. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday (18th) morning at Kennewick Baptist Church followed by a reception at the church.
