Thelma P. Mitchell

April 21, 1923 – December 11, 2016

Thelma was born in Kalispell, MT on April 21, 1923. She passed away in Seattle, WA on December 11, 2016. Thelma was a lifelong member of The Church of The Nazarene.  She later moved to California where she graduated from Pasadena Academy in 1938. She then moved to Pendleton OR, where she met the love of her life William Mitchell, who she married in 1942. They spent the next 65 years together until Bills death in 2007.

During the war they lived in California, where Bill worked for Lockheed and Thelma worked in a restaurant. In 1943 their first child Sharon was born. The family then moved after the war to Pendleton, Moses Lake and Yakima. Yakima was where their second child Willette was born in 1948, their third child Edwin was born in 1951. Then in 1951 after moving to Richland, WA, their fourth child Penny was born in 1952. Thelma spent the next 60 years raising her family and working as a seamstress at Dawson Richland Clothing Store.

Thelma is preceded in death by Three Brothers, Two Sisters, Husband William, Daughter Sharon, Gene Carlson, Ken and Leona Carlson and her Granddaughter Melonie.

Thelma is survived by Daughters: Willette and Penny; Son, Edwin: Grandsons: Robert and Jason; Granddaughter, Kristine; two Great-Grandchildren and many Nephews and Nieces

Thelma will reside with William forever in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Einan’s at Sunset Funeral Home is honored to serve the Mitchell family. Public viewing will take place at Einan’s Chapel 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, WA, Friday December 16, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Sunset Gardens followed by a Church Service at Richland Nazarene Church 2500 Jericho Road Richland, WA at 3:30PM.
