From Richland, WA | Born in Morton, WA

Diane Campbell

Diane Kathleen Campbell entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on January 15, 2017. Diane was born in Morton, WA on October 3rd, 1946 and raised in Randle, WA where she attended the local school.

Growing up she loved riding the horse her family owned, enjoyed trips to the beach with her family, singing, dancing, cheer leading and belonged to the International Order of the Rainbow for girls.

After high school, Diane attended Beauty school, married her soul mate and love of her life, Alan Campbell, and stayed committed and in love for 52 years. Shortly after they were married they moved to Seattle where Diane finished beauty school and her husband went to work for Boeing. She then moved to Richland with her husband and children in 1971, making it her home for 46 years. Diane was a hairstylist out of her home and also went to work for the Richland School District in 1977. Later, in 1979, she became a kitchen manager for the then new Badger Mountain Elementary School and later moved on to Jefferson Elementary. Her job gave her great joy, she got along well with the staff and she truly loved children.

In the early 70's, Diane became a born again Christian and accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She loved worshipping the Lord and she and her husband Alan enjoyed doing activities with their church, being involved with Anchor club and holding bible studies and get- togethers in their home.

Diane enjoyed having people over for dinner, had the gift of hospitality and the ability to make everyone feel welcomed in her home. Diane loved animals and would often bring home strays that she had found, making them a part of her family. She also loved children and welcomed the neighborhood children into her home. Her house was often the hangout for her children friends as well as her grandchildren’s friends.

Her family was her priority and she and her husband were involved in their daughter, Staci’s, dancing and piano playing along with their son, Gy’s, boy scouts, and track and field. Diane loved camping and was an avid outdoorsman…she loved biking with her family, camping, fishing, hiking and floating the river.

Later in the early 1990’s Diane and her husband took on the responsibility of raising their grandson Mitchell and spent many wonderful years being involved with him and his sports, such as snowboarding, BMXing, motocross and ice hockey. Diane and Alan made it a point to embrace their grandkids and took them on vacations to Disneyland and camping.

Diane was preceded in death by her father, Donald Woods; Mother, Vera Woods; Brother, Rodney Woods; Brother, Gary words; Son, Gy Campbell; and her grandson Mitchell Campbell.

She is survived by her husband Alan Campbell; her daughter, Staci Campbell; Granddaughters, Lisa Evans, Destiny Alden, Audrey Maury, and Paige Maury; Grandson, Clayton Story; and great grandchildren Jeremiah Collop, Penelope Evans, and Marianna Clark, as well as her twin sister, Dawn Randall and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held at Richland First Baptist Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:00pm.
