Eloise Delavene Singleton
Eloise, better know as Big Mama to all who knew her, was born December 4, 1919 in Carthage, Arkansas to Fannie Mae and Thomas Brandon. She was baptized at an early age of 9 and devoted her entire life to Christ. On December 16, 1939, she married Willie Jimerson and moved from Fordyce, Arkansas to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1945. In 1948, she moved from Las Vegas to the Tri-Cities with her four children where in time she met and married Julius C. Singleton, raising all 10 children after his death in 1964.
Eloise worked as a Cook/Sous Chef at Smitty’s Pancake House, the Pasco Red Lion Hotel and the Meadow Springs Country Club. After raising her 10 children, Eloise continued to pursue her education and in 1970 graduated from Trend College, formally known as the Modern Business College, and finally retired in 2009. But not one to have idle time, she went to work at the Senior Companion Center.
Eloise loved to fish, cook, garden, and spend time with family celebrating holidays, birthdays, and any opportunity to have a family gathering. Eloise loved to share her home and table with anyone who stopped by for a visit. She loved being surrounded by loved ones, sharing her stories, listening to theirs, and sharing her wisdom.
Eloise at 97 years young, went on home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 12 in Richland Washington.
Eloise is survived by eight children: Louis (Cindy) Jimerson, Richard (Maude) Jimerson, JoeAnn (Fred) Wallace, Shirley Jimerson, Jacqueline Singleton, Robert Singleton, Judith Singleton, and Julius Singleton. She was blessed with 83 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, along with dear friends who love her and will miss her dearly. Eloise is preceded in death by her parents Fannie Mae and Thomas Brandon, 11 siblings: Nathaniel Gray, Idell Odom, Elcanan Johnson, Cubit Smith, Willie Mae Coleman, Sam Brandon, Odessa Lawson, Annie Ruth Neal and Donald Brandon, and three of her children: Helen Jimerson, Mary Nelson and Cynthia Singleton.
One of her most well-known sayings is, “If I can make one step, God will make two.” And he kept her stepping for 97 years.
The family would like to thank everyone who provided care and support during this transitional period. Special thanks to Kadlec and the Hospice staff at Richland Life Care.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00am at Events at Sunset, followed by the Graveside at Sunset Gardens.

To The Family of Mrs. Singleton, we are Praying without Ceasing, for your family. I grew up on Sycamore Street with the family. Your Mother alway would have a smile on her face and would wave as we pasted by her home. She was a true Women of God and a firm believer of family. She was a great Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and true friend to all, never meeting a stranger. Hold on to all the family values and treasure her memories in your heart for she will always be with you. Keep trusting God because, He is able.
We will miss you Mother Singleton! Much love & blessings to the Family!
My heart is heavy right now but I know she is in a better place. I will always cherish my memories of running behind the alley to Ms Singletons playing games in the yard watching her on the porch. My prayers are with you and your family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
