Ronnie Armstrong
Ronnie Lewis Armstrong resided in Richland, WA. He passed away on April 21, 2017, at the Chaplaincy House, Kennewick WA at the age of 79.
Ron was born in Rigby, Idaho on June 24, 1937. He lived in Richland for 64 years and spent his early years in Idaho and ten years in Renton.
Ron worked 32 years as a long-haul truck driver for Interstate. He enjoyed being on the road but enjoyed coming home more. He worked 10 years for Boeing as a supervisor in the document control center.
He is survived by his siblings, Jerry Dean Armstrong, Shirley (Carl) Dvorak, Linda (Richard) Williams; former wives, Dawn Lyle and Laura Dean Kirby and her three daughters and grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He adored them all but was very close to his grandson Nick Taylor.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jimmy and Audrey Armstrong, brother Merlin Gary Armstrong and nephew Merlin Howard Armstrong. Ron loved the dogs in his life –childhood pets Tote and Happy and adulthood pets Pepsi, YoYo, and Buttons.
Idaho, Yellowstone Park, Nevada and Utah were temporary homes but Richland became Ron’s permanent home attending Lewis & Clark Elementary, Carmichael, and Columbia High…the first class to start and complete their education in the new town of Richland, WA.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the National Diabetes Foundation or the Kennewick Humane Society.
Ron will be missed, but not forgotten, for his gentle nature and kindness to others.
