Warren “Chuck” A. Middleton

Warren “Chuck” A. Middleton was born July 6, 1929 to Arlene and Earl Middleton in Ruby, WA where he grew up. His youth was spent hunting, fishing, learning to operate the current ferry and working on the family farm. In March 1949, he married Billie Jean Atkinson and lived happily with her for the 68 years. Over the years Chuck worked several jobs, including logging, hard rock mining, bridge construction and many years as the manager of a rock quarry. He was especially known for his honesty, work ethics and his demolition skills. Together Chuck and Billie Jean raised their four children; Bruce Middleton, Kathy Lee Houghan, Gary Middleton and Gail Middleton in Bremerton, WA. Weekends were spent rock hunting, digging for clams and gooey ducks, fishing, Boy Scout outings, picnics, water skiing and attending dance recitals. In retirement Chuck enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and following his passion of woodworking – connecting to his wife’s pastime of hand quilting by building quilt hoop stands. Both he and Billie Jean traveled to quilt shows where he sold quilt stands and related hand-crafted items. In 2005 Chuck and Billie Jean moved to West Richland, WA where they enjoyed gardening, daily trips to the Spudnut shop and spending time with their daughters.        After suffering with Alzheimer’s disease for several years Chuck passed away on May 9, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Erma Middleton and Donna Jean Davis. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean; his brother, John Middleton; all four of his children and several grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be take place at Guardian Angel Homes located at 245 Van Giesen Street in Richland on June 3^rd at 3:00pm.
