Sandra Ursula Flaherty

Sandra passed away June 4, 2017, at the young age of 74 in Richland WA, with her family, by her side. Sandra was born April 21, 1943 in Passaic, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Mario and Clelia Carpene.

In her younger years Sandra married John Flaherty and raised her only daughter Patricia “Trish” who as a team became best friends. They were always there for each other during the good times and the hard times. After raising her daughter Trish she pursued her career in retail as a manager for Shopko. She also sold Real Estate for a short while.

Sandra enjoyed playing tennis with her daughter and others. They were members of the Tri City Court Club. Sandra was active with her church at Christ the King Catholic Church, a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at Kadlec in the surgical lounge for a few years.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Trish” (David) Huber of Hermiston, OR; her granddaughter, Megan; her sister, Diana (Jeff) Rudner of Huntington, NY; her brothers: Michael Carpene of Los Altos, CA, Marc (Sheila)Carpene of Morgan Hill, CA, as well as a variety of cousins, nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband John Flaherty.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday June 15, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Einan’s at Sunset Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday June 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church. 1111 Stevens Drive Richland, WA 99354 followed by graveside service at 1:30 PM at Sunset Gardens in Richland, WA.
