Theo Lester Starr

Theo passed away September 5, 2017 after a short illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that loved him very much.

He was the youngest of 9 children. He was born September 7, 1931 at the family homestead north of Mooreland, Oklahoma to Charles “Charlie” and Mable (Bailey) Starr. He attended the Hawkeye Country School.

Theo married Eva Janet McClellan on August 13, 1950. They were married about 14 years. Theo and Eva had four children together: Ronald Dean, Bobby Lee, Debra Jo and Carol Lorraine. They made their home in Mooreland before moving to Pratt, Kansas. They later moved to Pasco, Washington where Theo managed the Atlantic Richfield Station.

Theo married Nancy Irvin in approximately 1961 and they made their home in the Tri-Cities area. Theo helped Nancy raise her three children: Todd, Ronnie, and Carol Ann. Theo worked for the county for about 32 years as a mechanic and truck driver.

Theo loved the country life. He also enjoyed farming, camping, fishing, and watching bull riding and the Seattle Seahawks on TV (Go Hawks!). He also enjoyed going to coffee or breakfast often with his friends and going to the auction on Tuesdays with some of them. He especially loved horses. He raised and trained many over the years. After Nancy’s death in 2012, Theo married Elizabeth Dumond on April 30, 2016 and they made their home in Pasco, WA.

Theo was preceded in death by his son Ronald Dean, step-daughter Carol Ann, wife Nancy, and siblings: Leon, Warren, Marion “Buck”, twin brother Brock, Alese, Phyllis, and his parents.

Theo is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth. He is also survived by his son Bob (Brenda) Starr of Mooreland, OK, daughters Debra (Bill) Maples of Woodward, OK and Carol (Gary) Harris of Woodward, OK. Sisters: Millie (Virgil) Fussell of Enid, OK and EvaLee (John) Phillips of Talequah, OK. Elizabeth’s children: Doreen, James, and Charlie Pullicino of the Tri-Cities in WA. Nancy’s children: Todd Irvin of Wenatchee, WA and Ronnie (Michelle) Irvin of Mexico. Also many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
