JODI RAE DURFEE
Jodi Rae Durfee passed away on November 28, 2017. She was born July 7, 1981 to Steve and Rhonda. They fell in love with her the second they held her. Jodi spent her first years sharing life with her older brother Jeff, always trying to do whatever he was doing. Four years later she embraced her new baby sister, Jami and they quickly became best friends.
Jodi was very independent at a young age. She was always audacious and headstrong. Above all, she cherished her family. Jodi spent much of her younger years playing soccer, softball, and basketball. She loved being goalie. When she wasn’t busy with sports, Jodi was blessed with five best buddies and life-long friends (her cousins). Some of her fondest memories in life occurred with her brother, sister, and cousins. They fished, camped, danced, and did their famous human pyramids.
Jodi’s family grew when Rhonda married Dan. Dan loved Jodi as his own daughter, and the
two of them shared many good talks over the years. Danny, Lisa and Keri gained a sister and
friend, “Jodster the Jokester!” When
Steve married Karen, Jessica and Mattison were added to Jodi’s family.
As funny as Jodi was, she was also extremely intelligent. After graduating from Richland High School and some classes at Boise State, she went on to be a successful Hazardous and Radioactive Waste Shipper working at Hanford and other locations across the state.
Jodi is survived by her father Steve (Karen) Durfee, mother Rhonda (Dan) Connolly, brother Jeff (Sali) Durfee, and sister Jami (Vale) Simpkin; Step siblings Dan (Monique) Connolly, Lisa Connolly, Keri (Mike) Herbst, Jessica Martin, and Mattison Martin; Grandmothers Geneva Rose and Norma Campbell; Uncle Rick (Jill) Rose and Aunt Robin Rose (John Adams); Cousins Jeremy, Jessica, Ashley, Eric, and Justine. And the loves of her life, her nieces and nephews Sierra, Rachel, Isaiah, Brandon, Shayla, MaKayla, Shane, D’Andre, Jaemen, Michael, Ty, Jordan, Trey, Jace, and Trent.
Jodi will rest in peace right next to her Grandpa Dick, whom she admired more than words can say. She is also preceded in death by her Grandfathers George Durfee and Ray Campbell; Uncles David Durfee and Jim Durfee.
A special thanks to Jodi’s earth angel and caregiver for the last 15 months, her Grandma Neva. Donations may be made in Jodi’s honor to a youth mentoring organization of your choice.
