Steve was the first person at Eastern Oregon to befriend me in 1991. I was from Canada coming down to play baseball. I couldn’t have asked for a more friendly, welcoming person to ease my entry into the United States. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. He will be forever missed by me as he was truly a special person and friend to those who knew him.
My sincere condolences to his entire family.

Dear Steve, Last Fist Bump to you my friend. You will be missed but left many of us with wonderful times to remember.
A kind, generous and gentle soul has departed to a place more peaceful than he could find here on our planet. May his star shine bright and twinkle at all of us whose lives he touched.
You will be forever missed my friend, my brother. The joy, the music and the laughter will all be that much less without you. I wish you only peace.
