Aleda H. Hubbs

On January 19, 2018 Aleda H. Hubbs passed away after battling a brief illness. Born on September 19, 1926 in beautiful Summersville Missouri, Aleda was raised as the youngest of 5 siblings by her loving parents Lucian and Ruth Hunter. After graduation, Aleda briefly taught school in a 1-room schoolhouse, eventually marrying the love of her life Glenn V. Hubbs on December 24, 1946. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Richland where they built their life together. Aleda loved the health care profession and worked for the Hanford Environmental Health Foundation until her retirement on March 10th, 1989.

Once she retired, Aleda continued to fulfill her life’s work of giving by volunteering for the Kadlec Auxiliary Foundation. Additionally, she enjoyed spending time with her grand children, bowling, playing cards with friends, exercising, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother and is survived by Janet Diediker, Randy Hubbs (Jana); two grandchildren, Janelle Williams (Aaron), Ryan Hubbs (Jessica); and great-granddaughter, Stella Rae Williams.

At her request, a private family celebration of her life was held last week at Einan's Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chaplaincy Hospice Care, 1480 Fowler Street, Richland, WA 99352.

  • Janet and Randy,
Mere words cannot express my sorrow for the loss of your dear mother. I can’t begin to tell you how much I admired and adored your Mom. She was beautiful, smart and always kind. I enjoyed many overnight stays at your home and your Dad even taught me to waterski! Your Mom was always kind and generous with me and I will never forget her.
