Alyce Duvall
Alyce Ethlyn Duvall, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend too many, went home to be with our Lord on January 1, 2018. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the age of 89.
Alyce, a longtime resident of the Tri-Cities, was born on August 22,
1928, in Jackson Minnesota and spent her early childhood there. Alyce later moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon
when her family relocated out West to seek employment. After graduating from Klamath Falls High
School, she received a music scholarship and attended Whitman College. After College, Alyce relocated in Coquille, OR
where she met Harold, the love of her life during a local dance. They were married on February 7, 1948, in
Vancouver, Washington and shared 70 years of living their lives together.
Alyce and Harold remained in Oregon for a few years and in 1956 moved their
family to Richland to join her sister and look for work. Alyce starting working as a bookkeeper and
eventually became a partner in Rainier Electric until 1983. After their retirement, they settled down in California
in 1986 and returned to the Tri-Cities in 1993 to be closer to their children
and grandchildren.
Alyce is survived by her husband Harold, three of her four children; Larry (Julie) Duvall, Kathie (Don) Kallevig, and Jim (Peggy) Duvall. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Alyce was preceded in death by her son Tom Duvall, her Parents, Addison and Jessie Wells, her sister Dorothy, and two brothers David and Budgy.
Mom left a legacy of family and friends and will be truly missed by her loving family. Mom, we will miss you and your infectious smile and laughter and we all thank you for the memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandra Soulek at the Kadlec Senior Medical Center for the loving care she provided and the staff at Guardian Angel Homes for the unconditional love they provided for our mother during the last year.
A private Graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 12th at 4:00 pm at the Memories at Sunset Event Center located at 915 Bypass Highway in Richland.
