Hortense “Tangee” Tellez

October 29, 1926 – January 29, 2018

Tangee was a loving and devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a loving wife to her husband Fidel Tellez. Tangee passed away peacefully on Monday January 29, 2018 in the early morning while in hospice at the Peace of Mind Adult Family Home in Richland, WA. She was surrounded by love from her family, friends and loving care providers.

Tangee lived between Richland, WA and Idaho Falls, ID over the past 28 plus years. She was a retired administrative secretary from the Hanford Site. She loved being retired, never an idle moment. She traveled many places with her sister, daughter and sons – her bags were always packed.

Tangee was an accomplished quilter and needle pointer, receiving blue ribbon awards from the Benton County Fair over the years. All of her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews received very special quilts, needle pointed pictures, and special gift items made with love and given from the heart. She participated in making quilts for the boys and girls clubs in Idaho Falls, and quilted baby blankets for those in need.

She could always be counted on to support her family in their adventures such as camping, fishing, golfing, baseball games, foot racing and fund raising events.  She touched many lives with her kindness and loving ways. She will be missed by her loving family and all those who came to know her and befriended her.

Tangee is preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Bill, her husband, Fidel, her parents, Sara and Joseph Valle, her siblings, Ed, Art, Bob, Rudy and Alice and their spouses.  She is survived by her son Bruce Tellez, his wife Alexis, her grandson Chris and his wife Lauren, her great grandchildren Caden and Camila, grandson Jason and his wife Marie and her great grandchild Chanden, her grandsons Matt and Greg, her son-in-law Dave and daughter Kathy Leonard and her daughter-in-law Donna Bluin.

A Rosary will be held Friday February 16, 2018 4 to 6 PM. Burial of Catholic Mass will be Saturday February 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM. at Christ the King Catholic Church Richland, WA. Graveside service will follow the Mass at Sunset Memorial Gardens Richland, WA.
