Robert Eugene Fuhrman

Robert Eugene Fuhrman passed away January 20, 2018 at Chaplaincy Hospice surrounded by friends, family and his wife of 53 years, Patricia.   Robert (Bob) was born Feb. 16, 1941 at Fort Lewis, Washington.  He moved to Montana at about age three where he grew up on the family farm/ranch near Opheim.

Bob pursued his love of agriculture and nature in his career in equipment sales management as well as his in his personal life volunteering at Sacajawea State Park, and camping and fishing with his grandson Kyle.  His career also allowed Bob to enjoy the open roads and travel both the U.S. and Australia.  He and his wife Pat, and their beloved dog Abby, also carried this out in retirement camping with their close friends in the Tumbleweeds RV group.  In both work and play, Bob was a friend to “everyone” and was always willing and ready to help and serve wherever the opportunity presented.

Bob was devoted to his family and took great joy in spending time with Pat, his children and grandchildren attending their activities and events throughout Montana and the Pacific Northwest.  He is survived by his wife Pat, daughters Rochelle (Bill) Nicholson, Robyn Fuhrman and Stephanie Fuhrman (Jen Jackson), grandchildren Aysha Maddox (Thomas), Kyle (Amanda) Blatter and the Nicholson children Brayden, Ashlyn, Hunter and Morgan.  Great grandchildren Oakley, Harlee and Bentley Maddox, and Emmett Blatter as well as his soon to be brother will carry on his legacy.

Bob’s parents, Clarence and Charlotte Fuhrman of Glasgow, Montana, preceded him in death.  He is survived by his siblings Carolynn, Roger, Kathy, Brian, and Miles as well as a large extended family with deep roots in eastern Montana and beyond.

The family will gather for a private service in Tri-Cities, Washington, and a celebration of life is planned this summer at Charbonneau Park.   The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude for the compassion and care shown Bob by Dr. Khwandi and the Davita Dialysis Center, Trios Southridge Hospital, and Dr. Cohan and the staff at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy and Hospice Home.  Also thanks to the many friends and family that have supported us through this difficult season.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Tri-Cities Chaplaincy and Hospice Home, Friends of Sacajawea Park or the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
