Eunice Lula Shrock Hetrick

A Graveside Service will be held for Eunice L. Hetrick on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.

Eunice died at home surrounded by her loved ones on February 17, 2018. She was born on February 11, 1922 to Jacob and Rhoda Shrock in Panoka, Alberta, Canada. At 6 weeks old, she moved to the Yakima Valley by way of boxcar. Eunice graduated from Wapato High School in 1941 and soon afterwards married Lawrence O. Hetrick on June 8, 1941 in Sunnyside, WA. Eunice and her family moved to Richland in 1951 where she faithfully worshipped the lord at the First Baptist Church of Richland. She worked at the Richland Post Office, Kadlec Hospital, and Hanford Environmental Services.

She is survived by a sister, Inabell Heller of Rohnert Park, CA. Eunice is also survived by her six children, Phronsie (Harvey) Carr of Pasco; Lawrence Jr. (Patricia) of Aumsville, OR; Charles of Beaverton, OR; Donald Hetrick (Rebecca) of Mertle Creek, OR; Elizabeth (James) Hair of Chumcula, AL; and Ronald (Janet) of Richland. Eunice has 24 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 32 great- great grandchildren, and 1 great, great, great grandchild. And, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, 8 siblings; her husband of 70 years, Lawrence; her son DeWayne (Laura), 2 grandchildren, and a great great grandson.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Chaplaincy Hospice Care.
