From 1978 to 1980 they lived in Vienna, Austria, for a temporary assignment with the IAEA. While there, they experienced a lot of Europe and Russia. Ken retired from Battelle in 1992.
Throughout his life, Ken enjoyed his family, church, friends, hunting, fishing, camping, playing softball, tennis, golf, volleyball, ice skating, snow and water skiing, bicycle riding and playing bridge. He started going to Twin Lakes, Washington, with friends in 1951 and eventually bought a place on the lake where the family continues to go.
