Sue Vickerman

Sue Ellen Vickerman, age 68, of Benton City, WA, peacefully went home to be with her Lord Jesus on March 16, 2018, while at home and in the presence of many loved ones. Sue was born on October 13, 1949 in Sunnyside, WA to Oliver and Goldie Webley. She married Russell Carl Vickerman on September 13, 1969 in Benton City, WA. She graduated from Kiona-Benton High School in 1967. She received a two-year certificate from Columbia Basin College. In 2013, Sue retired from Battelle Northwest after over 40 years of distinguished service. She briefly worked as a para-educator for the Kiona-Benton School District. Also, she owned several different small businesses through the years.

Sue lived a truly extraordinary life in devotion to Jesus, her husband, her children and grandchildren, her extended family and even beyond. Her extraordinary marriage with Russ spanned nearly five decades and was an excellent example of Christian marriage to all who know them. Memories that she leaves with her kids and grandkids include attending their many sports games, church and school events, and many other fun times such as jet skiing on the Columbia River and family vacations. She was also extremely devoted to her extended family — often helping those in need. Additionally, Sue personally rescued many abandoned and abused pets and nursed them back to health. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening. Sue loved to read Jesus Calling and her favorite Scriptures were John 3:16 and Isaiah 40:31. Sue was a courageous cancer survivor who also greatly assisted many people with their own cancer battles.

Sue is survived by her husband, Russ Vickerman of Benton City, WA. Her son, Lance Vickerman and wife Kirsten of Kennewick, WA and their children Taylor, Brayden, Hayleigh and Maylynn. Her daughter, Heidi Wolfe of Benton City, WA. Brother Don and wife Barbara of Vancouver, WA. Sister Peggy and husband Jay Draper of Coulee City, WA. And sister Penny and husband Ron Gouge of Richland, WA. And lastly her beloved pets — Sparky, Shocka, Bittles, and Scruffy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Goldie Webley, and her sister Francis Stafford.

Services will be held at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities on March 31, 2018 at 11:00am, with a reception to follow. No visitation or graveside services will be held. Sue’s childhood pastor, Larry Howell of Benton City, WA, will be the officiant. Einan’s Funeral Home is making funeral arrangements.

Heartfelt appreciation is given to the many immediate and extended family members and friends who compassionately provided 24/7 care during her final days. Additionally, the family would like to thank Dr. Jon Murphy and his staff in Tempe, AZ.

For those that would prefer making a charitable donation in lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest that donations be made to Pet Over Population.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” -- John 3:16
