Jane Smith
Jane Louise Smith, 65, passed away suddenly in the early
morning hours of April 12th at her home in Pasco. Jane was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania to
Eleanor and Perry Rockwell on September 14th, 1952. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to
Port Hueneme, California, where Jane spent her childhood and formative years
and eventually meeting her husband-to-be, Ronald Smith. Jane and Ron were married on December 9th,
1978 in Port Hueneme. Ron and Jane
resided in Idaho Falls, Idaho for the first two years of their marriage, before
relocating to the Tri-Cities in 1980.
Jane was a payroll and bookkeeping clerk for Skill Resources in Pasco
and Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland from which she retired in 2014. Jane spent her time in retirement making
quilts for her loved ones, visiting with her many friends, enjoying her beloved
dogs, and traveling. Jane was well known
for her kindness, smile, and friendly demeanor.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents Eleanor and Perry Rockwell.
Jane is survived by Ron Smith (husband), sons Kevin and
Steve, daughter-in-law Amy, her sisters and their spouses Joyce and Michael
Wood and Judy and Rick Byrd, Grandchildren Bridget, Braxton, and Bennett, and
many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Jane will be on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Event Center at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, Washington. In lieu of flowers, Jane would most certainly appreciate donations to any local animal shelter.
Dear Ron, Kevin and Steve…… I am so saddened to hear of sweet Jane’s passing. She was a great friend and confidant to me. I have never forgotten your kindness as a family. Send hugs and prayers.
