Carol Armstrong
Carol Joanne Armstrong-Andersson was born in Seattle, WA on July 29, 1942, from the union of Lois Jean King and Forrest Emerson Schultz. Carol was the second born child of four children all of which were girls. Carol passed away on May 11, 2018 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA.
Carol grew up in Des Moines, Washington where she went to Mt. Rainier High School, graduating in 1960. Carol enjoyed her studies, excelling in mathematics. Carol was very social, and she earned popularity in becoming a song cheer leader. Carol loved cars and she learned how to work on engines, later becoming a part of the drag racing community.
After high school, she acquired her cosmetology license and opened a small business in Des Moines, WA. Carol went on to experience professional settings in business including being a co-owner of Speed Equipment Wholesalers in Renton, WA. Later she traveled to California where she worked for Pacific Northwest Bell. She moved back to Seattle, worked for Boeing then Boeing Computer Services. Carol enjoyed the challenge computer science offered.
Boeing transferred Carol to Richland, WA where she went on to work for Kaiser, Westinghouse, and Lockheed Martin. Carol bought a ranch in Benton City where her dream of becoming a horse rancher came true. Later, she worked as an Independent Contactor in Project Controls.
Carol enjoyed traveling, and her work took her across America and into Canada. She eventually bought property in Alaska with her husband Torgny whom she met in Sweden. Carol enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Carol will be lovingly missed by her surviving family: Her husband Torgny Andersson, her only daughter Chevelle Marie Favro and husband Michael Favro, her granddaughters, Jessica Zimmerman and Alayna Roberts, her sister Lorraine Jean Schultz, deceased sisters Lynne Joyce Schultz and Barbara Jane Lovas, half-brother Forrest E. Schultz Junior and his daughter, and her nieces and nephews from oldest to youngest; Melissa Stephens and her four children and two grandchildren, Kari Jane Lovas and her two children, Mark Lovas and Damien Schultz. Carol also had many friends, her closest being Larry Armstrong.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00am at Einan's at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland, WA with the graveside to follow at Sunset Gardens.
