David Smith
David L Smith, beloved husband, father and grandfather left
this world on June 5, 2018. He was born and raised in Hamlet, NC;
graduated from Hamlet High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree from
UNC-Chapel Hill and his Master ‘s Degree from UNC-Pembroke.
In 1998 he took a job with PNNL and was there until he retired. His one passion
in life was tennis. It didn’t matter if he was playing or watching.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, two daughters from a previous marriage
Paula Placa and Debra Cable and one granddaughter Natalie Placa.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, June 14th from 4:00-8:00pm
at the Event Center at Sunset Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asks that
you make a donation to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
