Jeanice Mary Ellen (Cox) Wise (4/1/1923 – 6/27/2018)

 Jeanice was born in Dodson, Montana on April 1, 1923 – Aprils Fools Day and on an Easter Sunday – to Roy and Agnes Cox.  Jeanice grew up in Chinook, Montana graduating from Chinook High in 1941 and married Nester Wise. December 1943 Jeanice and Nester, with daughter Darla, came to Hanford, Washington.  They lived in a one room ‘mobile home’ until receiving a two-bedroom prefab in 1945.  Son Nester Lee arrived. 

Jeanice worked as a Technical Librarian for many of the Hanford companies including GE, Kaiser Engineers, Vitro, retiring in 1983. 

Jeanice and Nester were members of the Richland Lutheran Church and Prairie Shufflers, and they enjoyed playing cards with good friends.  They spent time in their RV touring the Northwest (and of course, Reno). 

Nester passed away in 1994.  Jeanice joined Rambling Rovers and continued to be active and living alone until 2009 when she moved to Brookdale Assisted Living. 

She was preceded in death by parents Roy and Agnes Cox, husband Nester Wise, brothers Glenn Cox, Verlon Cox, Clinton Cox, Roy Cox, and sister Eileen Cox. 

Jeanice is survived by daughter Darla (John) Kennedy, son Nester (Cyndi) Wise, grandchildren Wally (Jennifer) Kennedy, Traci (Stephe) Chapman, Laura (Gilbert) Burrus, Katie Wise; great-grandchildren Chelsea Kennedy, Sean Kennedy, Blake Chapman, Mason Chapman, Stephanie (Calvin) Nash and Terra Booth; great-great grandchildren Madison and Hunter Nash; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

We wish to thank all the caregivers and aides at Brookdale Assisted Living for their loving care of Jeanice.  Einans at Sunset Gardens is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice.  At her request, graveside services only.  

 A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Sunset Gardens in Richland, WA.
