John Riley

John Lawrence Riley passed away June 24th due to complications from a ruptured aortic aneurysm. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. John was born January 19th, 1934 in Meadville Pennsylvania. The Riley family moved to Denver for a brief period in the 1940’s before settling in Richland. John met Raeanna McDonald at Columbia High. They married and had 2 daughters. John and Raeanna moved to Spokane where John worked on the railroad. After their divorce, John returned to the Tri-Cities where he met his 2nd wife Jo Ann Milliman. They married in September of 1974 and had 2 daughters. John worked as a laborer at Hanford from the 1970’s until 1992 when he retired. John had a big heart. His love of The Lord poured out through his love of people. John stayed active playing golf and traveling. He was lovingly referred to as Mr. Riley from the kids in his neighborhood. He always had some candy or a Pepsi for kids when they’d visit. John is survived by his daughters Kathy Mooney of Spokane, Teresa Herker of Spokane, Shawna Riley of Kennewick and Colleen Brown (Phil) of Kennewick, 15 grandkids and 16 great grandkids. Along with many “adopted” kids and grandkids. A special thanks to Rose Calloway for all of the help she gave our father during his last years. You are an angel and we appreciate what you did for our daddy!

Public Viewing will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 3 pm-5 pm at Events at Sunset in Richland. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10 am at Events at Sunset followed by a graveside service at Resthaven cemetery. A reception will be held from noon to 2pm at the West Richland golf course.
