Marilyn Beckley

Marilyn Beckley born September 05, 1946 in Walla Walla, Washington, the daughter of Samuel and Velma (Raymond) Boots, passed away June 19, 2018 in her home surrounded by those she loved.

Marilyn grew up in Skamania, Washington and Washougal, Washington area.  Even though she left there when she was 17 she always thought of this area as home.  She went to school in Washougal always making it a point to return for her class reunions.

At 19 she met Thurman Morgan in Norfolk, Virginia and married.  They later moved to New Bern, North Carolina where they had to 2 children.   Marilyn and Thurman later divorced and she and her 2 small boys moved to Southern California.  Marilyn has always had a fiercely interdependent spirit.

After living in California for a few years Marilyn then moved her 3 small children to the Walla Walla area.  She remained there raising her children.  Marilyn worked hard to provide for her kids.  She worked at the Rochester Tavern for most of her time she lived in the Walla Walla area, where she made many lifelong friends.

Marilyn moved to West Richland 31 years ago when she met Jim Beckley.  Together they owned and managed the Alhambra apartments in Richland.   With Marilyn being the organizer, they made many trips to the Tucannon to camp and to fish.  She loved their trips to the Tucannon with their group of friends.  She always had great stories to share when they returned.  They went every Memorial Weekend for years.

Weekends for Marilyn were meant for fun.  Whether she was camping with Mark and Tami and their pups or at the bar watching her Seahawks play you can be sure Marilyn was having a good time.

Marilyn loved being a grandma above all else.  Her grandchildren lit up her world and gave her so much joy.  She loved to take them fishing. Teaching them how to cast and taking so much pride when they were able to cast on their own.  She loved going on family camping trips with her kids and grandkids.

Marilyn leaves behind son Mark and wife Tami; daughter Angela and husband Stan Bly; granddaughter Dani Badeker and great grandsons Jayden and Malaki Badeker; grandson Zachary Bly and granddaughter Amy Bly; sisters, Dorothy Clay; Norma Boring; Sue and husband Ken Adams; many nieces and nephews and her faithful pup Peaches.   She was preceded in death by her father Samuel, mother Velma, brothers Raymond and Robert Boots, and her son Michael Morgan.
