Eugene William Meyer
Eugene “Gene” William Meyer of Richland, passed away on November 7, 2021, at the age of 79. He was born in Anaconda, Montana on August 18, 1942, to William Meyer and Sarah Thompson Meyer.
Gene graduated from Anaconda High School in 1961. He served in the National Guard for six years, worked as a pipefitter at the Anaconda Company, and then worked the majority of his career as a mechanic at Energy Northwest in Richland, retiring in 2004.
Gene was married to the love of his life, Ruth Ann Meyer, for 56 years, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, William and his wife Paula; Scott; Gina’s family, Dean, children – Brock and Bryce; Tammy and her daughter Keelieshea; Corey and his wife Che’, children -Saydie, her significant other Chandler and their son Cayle, Shayla, Justin, Melissa, & Jayden. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Karol Quinn (Clay) of Seal Beach, California.
Gene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richland since 1975, where he served as an usher and Awana leader. He loved the Lord, and he and Ruth raised their children to know and love Him. Gene was an avid sports fan. He not only played sports, but he also coached various sports teams, including teams his kids played on. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play football, hockey, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, and dance. He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling with family and friends. One of his favorite places to camp where many memories were made was Wallowa Lake. He will be remembered by all that had the privilege to know him for his dedication and love for his family, sense of humor, gentle nature, and servant of the Lord.
Gene’s celebration of life service will be held Saturday November 20, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1107 Wright Ave. Richland, WA 99354. Reception following at First Baptist Church. The family asks that remembrances be made to the ARC Tri-Cities or First Baptist Church in lieu of sending flowers.

My condolences to the family during this very hard time. I am so glad Amy & I got to meet Gene on our trip to Richland from Cincinnati. I am sure he is smiling down on all of you from a very special spot in Heaven. You all are in our prayers.

Gene was a wonderful man. As a kid I always enjoyed spending time with the Meyer family. When we would go camping or when our families would have dinner together. It was always a wonderful time. Gene you will be sadly missed.
