Robert Nels Monson, 88, After a long 12 year battle with cancer passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife Eva and daughter Angela on Friday, July 7, 2023 in Richland, Washington.

Robert (Bob) was born on January 21, 1935 to Roy and Elda Monson, in Le Sueur, Minnesota. Bob lived a rambunctious early life in Alexandria, MN. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War as a field wireman in Austria.

After his service he moved to Southern California where he began his career as an State Farm Insurance Agent and met the love of his life Eva in Costa Mesa California. Bob and Eva were happily married for 51 years. After he retired from State Farm he moved his family to Atascadero, California where he spent his retirement hunting, fishing and scraping metal. Everyone knew Bob by his noisy blue Toyota pickup that he drove all over town. He briefly lived in Taylor, Arizona before finally settling in Richland, Washington.

Bob is survived by his wife Eva Monson and his six children: Gail Ashcraft, Judy Seguine, Roy Monson, Belinda Bond, Angela Bamber, and Candice Hernandez. 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Bob requested to be cremated and no viewing or services. He wanted to be remembered as the feisty ornery good ol’ boy that he was in life.
