Blake J Spilman

Blake J. Spilman, 72, of Kennewick passed away on August 5th, 2023 at Trios Hospital surrounded by family. He was born and raised in Richland, WA with his parents Ray and Patricia Spilman. He graduated from Columbia High School (now Richland HS) in 1968. He played on the tennis team and continued to play tennis and racquetball long into adulthood. He spent some time in Texas where attended a drafting school, and later Eastern Washington University. He soon returned to the Tri-Cities and moved to Kennewick near his brother Paul. Together they would build and fly RC model airplanes. His airplane hobby began as a young boy that would become a lifelong passion of flying, crashing, rebuilding, and repeating, all among good friends. He also enjoyed hotrods and drove a ’69 Camero after high school and rebuilt a ’67 Chevy Chevelle SS from scratch in the 90s. Blake would make a career at the Hanford area and retired as a cost estimator.

Blake loved all of his family equally as if they were his own. He married Mary Fouts in 1982 and adopted her son Ryan. Together they would have a daughter Mary Christina. Later, in 2006 he would marry and build a good life with Anna Ermolaeva. Blake really enjoyed being a grandfather to her grandchildren. He was able to meet his first grandson, Wesley, born earlier this year. His family will miss him, his need to make life fun, and his endless humor. Survived by his wife Anna, her Darya & Dmitri Rakov and Alex & Julia Ermolaev, his daughter Mary C. & Mike Demiter, and Ryan Fouts. Grandchildren are Alex Leshnevskiy, Max Rakov, Aleesa Rakov, Yaroslava Ermolaeva, Artyom Ermolaev, Wesley Demiter, a sister Trudy Spilman, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Einan’s at Sunset in Richland, WA on Aug 25th at 11AM. Followed by a funeral reception at 1720 Thayer Drive.
