Peggy Buchanan Peterson was born on May 29, 1934 to Harry and Edna Buchanan in Boise, Idaho. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and caregivers on April 18, 2025.

Peggy married her loving husband Pete on March 18, 1960, they enjoyed 65 wonderful years together .She is survived by her husband Pete, her four daughters Cindy (Bob) Savage of Aurora, IL, Zoe (Bruce) Hunt of Middleburg, FL, Kim (Paul) Clinton of Shoreline, WA .Tanya (Matt) Olliffe of Bainbridge, WA. 13 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
For a time she welcomed her nieces Debbie Doland, Michelle Seesee, Denise Steelman and Monique Kaas into her home and loved them like her own.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Harry & Edna Buchanan, sisters Pat Hunt, Madith Halliday, JoAnn Johnson and Connie Alder.

In 1966 Pete and Peggy moved from Boise, ID to Othello, Washington and then 10 years later they moved to Connell, Washington where they continued farming and raising their family.
They then moved to Pasco, Washington in 2008, where they enjoyed their retirement.

She committed her life to God at a young age. She was a woman of great faith and fully persuaded in her lifetime of better things that lie ahead, she lived her life with an eternal purpose.
She was a loving and caring person who left a lasting impression on all who knew her. A key figure in her family, she brought people together with her love and care for those around her. Her home became the gathering place where many memories were made. She loved people and opened her home to many throughout the years.
She will be dearly missed!

  • Grandma Peggy was the sweetest person I have ever know. When I flew over to the states for the first time on my own, I had never known her, but she remembered me as a baby. Immediately, she told me I must call her Grandma Peggy, although the way we are related is a lot more complicated than that. Her sweet demeanour and funny attitude and the way she always asked after my family and remembered my mum, even in her later years, I will always remember. Peggy truly was one of a kind and the best third grandmother I could ask for. Rest in Peace đź–¤

  • Listened to the service today…. I didn’t have the privilege of knowing Peggy (just her daughter Kim), so I appreciated learning a little about her life–especially about her trust and faith in God and her love and care for others.

  • Peggy and I became special friends before we married brothers. We both worked in Boise as young girls meeting often for lunch or coffee break. I have many special memories through the years Shared a room in the hospital when two of our children were born, and many more thru the years. I will miss my dear friend, but so thankful for the faith she had through the yrs that never wavered. She was always a source auntie to our girls. Darlene

  • We got to know Pete and Peggy when our son married their youngest daughter, Tanya and from the start enjoyed a warm and friendly relationship. We enjoyed staying with them especially when they lived in Connell and we were introduced to American small town living which we found fascinating! We always admired the way Peggy welcomed us and others into her home, especially our son Matthew. She was gracious and kind and we are glad we got to know her. Our thoughts and love are with Pete and all of the family in their sad loss.

  • Want to send my thoughts and love to everyone. Am so sorry to not be able to attend but will sure be thinking of you all and looking forward to connecting in the future as it works out. There was only one Aunt Peggy! She was fun, thoughtful, loving, faithful, inspiring, generous, etc. Most of all, though, I’m thankful she lived for the only thing that matters now! She will be missed!

  • Memories of Peggy go back as far as I can recall in childhood, she was a very dear, always positive lady that I always look forward to seeing again. Peggy was such a gracious lady, always had a smile to share, and she was always interested to know what had happened in your life since the last time she’d seen you.
Peggy’s love for God was never questioned, she lived a life that made that clear. She will always be an encouragement to me as I think of her in the future, she’ll never be forgotten.
Sending all my love to the family, wishing I could be with you Saturday, will be with you in heart.

  • Dear family,
We are sorry that we cannot attend the service for Peggy due to conflicting events.
All through many years, we have valued her friendship. You all would remember those yeaars around Connell, meeting together, working together, growing up together. Much love was shown from Peggy’s life as such an enduring faithful friend. Not only was she faithful to us, she was faithful to the God of Heaven. She can now rejoice with the cloud of witnesses for all eternity. We also know there is a sense of loss to you all. We lend you our sympathy and love,
