Brian Belliston
Brian Lee Belliston passed away surrounded by his loving children on June 25th, 2025 at the young age of 62 from complications related to an electric scooter accident. Brian was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend. Brian showed love to all those he came in contact with. He had a bright, shining smile that was contagious.
Brian was born on October 16th, 1962 in Richland WA to Vernon and Leora Belliston. Brian was the youngest of 6 children. He always said he had more than one mom due to having 4 older sisters. He was often found with his nephews, Paul and Corey, who were more like brothers. Brian graduated from Columbia High School (Richland High School) in 1981. He then went on to serve an LDS mission in Tennessee. After returning from Tennessee, Brian attended Utah Technical College, now known as Utah Valley University.
Brian later returned to Richland where he began working at the Hanford nuclear site. He worked as a clerk, and later as a health radiological control tech. On January 15th, 1999, Brian married Danielle Naef in the Portland Oregon temple. Together they raised two children whom were Brian’s pride and joy. Brian worked rotating 12 hour shifts for over 20 years, sacrificing sleep to be present for his kids at sporting events, piano recitals, and any other event he could attend. He always made sure they knew his level of admiration and love for them.
Brian had a love for music, drums, golfing, baseball, flying drones, astronomy, Diet Coke, good food, his family and above all his Savior Jesus Christ. Brian loved serving in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some of his favorites included working with the youth, and as ward mission leader. He loved connecting, growing and serving with the missionaries to bring others closer to Jesus Christ.
Brian is survived by Teigan (Zane) Summers, Ammon, ID and Elder Torin Belliston, Colorado. Also survived by his 5 siblings and their spouses, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant niece Lacey Belliston, brother in law Larry, and two angel grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11th, 11 am, at the LDS Thayer chapel, 1720 Thayer drive, Richland WA. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 10th from 6-8 pm at the Event Center at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 915 bypass Hwy, Bldg. I, Richland WA, and again from 10-10:45 am at the Thayer chapel prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints missionary fund.
Brian was one of the best friends you could have, so many memories of things we did together, I can see him “air drumming” on the dashboard of my car. Such a good person, big smile and laugh, helpful to anyone that needed it. Thankful for all the great times/memories. Rest in peace!
I enjoyed our conversations and greeting each other with a smile. You’ll be missed almost uncle Brian. Thoughts and prayers are with your family.
I am so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. He was two years behind me in school, but we were in the same group of LDS kids that hung out. He was kind and funny, and will be missed by many. Prayers for his family at this time.
Brian was truly one of the best and someone everyone loved being with. I have many happy memories, with “B” that I will always cherish, most of which still make me laugh today. He will be missed but heaven is now a better place with him in it. 🙂
Brian was always so welcoming to me and always made me feel comfortable in his home. He treated me like one of his own and I’ll forever be grateful for the time I had to know him and his family.
Brian was so easy going and so funny! Oh, how he could make people laugh. I have great memories of him from our high school days but was also blessed to see him occasionally in our adult years. I just saw him at a RHS basketball game earlier this year. Until we meet again, Brian.
Our thoughts, love and prayers are with you and so sorry for your loss
So many great memories I have shared with Brian! He is so loved by us all… so happy, so fun, so kind, so loved!
Brian and I were shift partners for multiple years. He and I became RCT’s together many years ago. He was a good friend and co-worker. He was an even better father. He loved talking about what his kids were up to. Such a kind man. He will be missed.
God speed brother, peace and love to all those let to honor your life.
Brian, you were in instant friend when I joined your shift. You always had a smile and went out of your way to talk with me even after I left. Truly one of the kindest I’ve ever known. The world and our site is a lesser place without your big ol smile to count on.
You are missed my friend. Life will never be the same without you in it. Everything I do will have a void that cannot be filled. You made me a better person. RIP my friend.
Brian was such a good human. I will miss his easy smile, hearty laugh and big hug. Kind to a fault. I don’t have many childhood memories that he’s not apart of. Our sisters were besties and our mothers were good friends. But it was our fathers that were brothers in faith, work and neighbors that will be greeting him in heaven and praising him on fulfilling his callings here on earth as a outstanding parent to his children and as a child of god.
My memories of Brian are from our school days. He was always a kind, caring person. Our next reunion will be in Heaven. Until then, may he rest in peace.
You will be greatly missed Brian, you were a such a great lifelong friend, we had so many fun times I can’t even begin to number them. Fridays will never be the same, I will “hit it out” just for you Bud, love you man, until we meet again!!
One of my favorite coworkers. He was always happy and would greet you with his big beautiful smile. Rest in Peace friend. You will be missed.
“Bud” was one of the best possible friends to grow up with. So many Concerts, Mariners games, church sports and even ringside WWF wrestling a few times. Always smiling and laughing. A literal walking talking encyclopedia of Music and musicians. So many of the best stories of my life start with “Bud and the gang”….
Hard to believe you were the first to “go” Rest well! you deserve it!!
Brian was always quick with a joke or a story that made you laugh. And his laugh was contagious! We shared lots of memories playing softball, golfing, and watching baseball games at Spring Training. He didn’t seek the spotlight or try to be anything but himself, and that’s what made him so easy to be around. We’re grateful for his friendship and the small moments we shared over the years. He’ll be missed.
Brian will forever be remembered with a smile on everyone’s face whoever knew him. He was just himself always and that is one of the best things about Brian. A lot of many happy childhood and adulthood memories with “belly button”. Until we meet again, give all of our friends and family in heaven a hug from all of us! Your smile will be forever missed. Westwood Ct, Sunset and Woodbury was definitely made more special by his presence.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Brian was a sweetheart. Growing up on Westwood Court was the best. I have the best memories from that time and a lot of them include Brian. I would run into him on occasion at the store and it was like no time had passed. So very sorry for your loss. Rest in Peace, Brian.
