Patricia Lynn Burke (nee Majewski) 6/29/1937-6/27/2025

Patricia Lynn Burke formerly of Richland, Washington passed away peacefully after a long illness at Mary Queen and Mother Center in Shrewsbury, Missouri on June 27, 2025.

Pat, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 29, 1937, the oldest of five children. Early on in life, Pat discovered baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals, which turned into a lifelong obsession. Starting around the age of 5, she often recalled attending games with her mother, aunts and cousin Richard. She enjoyed eating Cracker Jacks while watching her mother’s favorite player, Enos Slaughter at Sportsman’s Park. Pat went on to attend World Series games in 1967 and 1968. She especially enjoyed watching her favorite player, Bob Gibson set records in the 1968 season. Pat continued to follow the Cardinals for the rest of her life, experiencing great joy and heartache depending on the season.

Pat graduated from Rosati Kain high school in St. Louis in 1954 and went on to attend cosmetology school and obtained her license as a beautician. Pat studied in New York and worked briefly in California before returning to St. Louis to work full time at the salon at Famous Barr department stores. Pat occasionally worked as a hand model for print ads for the store and sometimes also modeled the latest hairstyles. She was an exceptionally talented stylist and was very well liked by her clients. While working at Famous Barr, one of her clients, Frances had a shy nephew named Bill that brought her to her appointments on occasion. Pat and Bil, a Richland native, began to date. Bill eventually proposed marriage and a move back to Richland. Pat accepted and they were married at Christ the King Catholic Church on February 19, 1972.

Pat was a devoted wife and mother and an equally devoted member of Christ the King. She and Bill worked many hours at Sausage Fest, she volunteered in the school cafeteria, helped with carpooling, was a volunteer soccer coach, and pitched in whenever help was needed. She was devoted to prayer and the rosary, and attended daily mass and holy hour whenever she could.

Pat and Bill were true helpers, they cared for Bill’s Aunt Frances at their home for over 20 years. They would often visit elderly friends, take them to appointments, provide meals, or do whatever they needed to have done. Pat worked at Quail Hollow Memory Care part time after Aunt Frances’ passing, sharing her hair stylist talents and helping the residents look their best.

Pat and Bill enjoyed retirement by spending time with family, watching sporting events, and occasionally traveling to Seattle to see the Mariners or flying to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals. Pat was devastated to lose Bill suddenly in 2008 after 36 years of marriage. She continued to live in the Tri-Cities before moving back to St. Louis in 2019 to be closer to extended family.

In addition to Bill, Pat was preceded in death by her infant brother Jerry Majewski, parents John and Evelyn Majewski, brothers in law Kevin Burke, James Burke, David Mills, Jerry Rhoads, nephew Michael Rhoads, sister- in- law Debbie Holzer, and her sister Barbara Mills.

Pat is survived by her children, Jennifer (Joe) Indelicato, William (Tiffany) Burke, her brothers, John (Clare) Majewski and Jim Majewski, sisters in law Mary Ellen Burke, Carolyn Rhoads, brother-in-law Charles Burke (Suzy) and her beloved grandchildren, Sophia Burke, Bianca Indelicato, Jack Burke, and Vincent Indelicato, step granddaughters Victoria (David) Chavey and Valerie Nunez, former daughter in law Shawnna Burke (Derek Kasparek). Our beloved aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend.

Please raise a cup of coffee and an oatmeal scotchie or two to Pat! We love you Mom, and thanks for everything. Go Cards!!!
