Benjamin J. Hunsaker was born to James and Julie Hunsaker. He was born on February 6th, 2002, and passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2025, at home with his family by his side.

Although Benjamin was with us for only a short time, his life had a profound and lasting impact on all who knew him. He had a wonderful smile that could light up a room and brighten everyone’s day. Benjamin had a strong grip, and once he took your hand, you knew he wouldn’t let go until you went on a walk with him.

He loved his family, friends, classmates, teachers, caregivers, food, music (especially Jam Club), sports on TV and going on long car rides. Benjamin especially loved his stuffed raccoons, affectionately named “R.J.” by his family and he was rarely seen without one.

Despite facing significant disabilities, Benjamin taught us all about unconditional love, patience, perseverance and the joy of life.

Benjamin was truly a special soul, deeply loved by everyone who knew him. While he will be greatly missed, we take comfort in knowing he is now perfect and whole in Heaven, and we look forward to the day we will see him again.

He is survived by his parents, James and Julie Hunsaker; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Sarah Hunsaker; grandparents, Soren and Jan Jensen and Dan and Carole Hunsaker; uncles and aunts, Dave and Rhonda Jensen, Joe and Debbie Nickles, Kevin and Kristen Axelson, and Michael Hunsaker; and cousins, Steven and Jill Nickles and Jacob and Jordan Axelson.
