John “Mac” McCoy Lamb, born on May 14, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Richland, Washington surrounded by his children and life partner. A beloved father, brother, partner and friend, Mac dedicated his life to those he loved. His loving spirit also lives on through his sister, Mary Katherine ‘Sister-Baby’ Brown (Larry), his first wife, Kathryn Sciamanda, his grandchildren-Colby, Deborah, Kathryn, Taylor, and Morgan-as well as his beloved partner, Marie Barrett, and her family. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Linda Granquist Lamb, and his parents, Raymond and Katherine Lamb.

I’ll miss you, Uncle Mac! You were so kind and funny. I also enjoyed your funny quips, like my brother said. David: “Hey, I was thinking of bringing a pizza over and having dinner together – what do you think of that idea?” Mac: “Well, I can’t think of anything better!” You made the world a much nicer place. Love, Jana
I’ll miss you, Uncle Mac! You were so sweet, kind, and funny. I loved your quips, like my brother mentioned – like when he asked you what you’d think about us bringing a pizza over and having dinner together, and you said, “Well, I can’t think of anything better!” I’ve always enjoyed visiting with you and feel so fortunate to have had you as an uncle. Love, Jana
Mac, I am so glad that finally answered your email asking if I would be interested in meeting you for lunch sometime “in the near future”. Since that day our friendship grew into much love for each other. We had a lot of fun times and took a lot of good road trips, a trip to Maui, and an Alaska cruise. So many good memories for me. We even survived living together as Snowbirds the last 2 winters in Arizona! You will hold a special place in my heart forever. Love you and miss you.
Mac, I am so glad that I finally answered your email asking if I would be interested in meeting you for lunch “sometime in the near future”. Our friendship grew into much love in the past 13 years. We had a lot of fun and did a lot of road trips together. We even made it the last 2 years as Snowbirds in Arizona. I have many, many good memories of our times together. You will hold a special place in my heart forever. Love you and miss you.
Mac was the most thoughtful, levelheaded person I have ever known. I enjoyed his company very much and learned a great deal about how houses go together. He helped me with mine and I was happy to return the favor a few times. I will always remember the clever quips as well. “Want a beer Mac?”
“Does a fat dog fart?”
Good stuff! I will miss you uncle!
Mac, we were blessed to have you in our lives when you met our mom and you are terribly missed. I will miss our chats and will hold your kind and humble words of wisdom close to my heart for my lifetime. Even at my age, I loved hearing you say “hi, kiddo” each time we saw each other. You and yours became an extension of our family and we are grateful for that. Thank you for loving our mom and us. I hope you get all the lemon meringue pie that your heart desires and you rest easy.
