George Rose

George Rose, 79, of Richland, WA, passed away on September 15, 2025. George was born on June 15, 1946, in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Hilda and George Rose.

George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to California, where he began building both his career and his family life. A talented MainFrame Consultant, George worked for Hitachi before relocating to Washington in 1985. It was there, in 1986, that he met the love of his life, Mickey, with whom he shared nearly four decades of cherished memories. In 1996, George joined Oracle, where he continued his career until his retirement in June 2014.

Outside of his professional life, George was a man of many passions. An accomplished bowler, he achieved the rare distinction of rolling three perfect 300 games. On the golf course, he scored three holes-in-one, a testament to his skill and patience. He also had a deep love of the outdoors, especially fishing for salmon, steelhead, and walleye-pursuits that brought him both joy and peace.

George will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose kindness and sense of humor touched all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Mickey Rose; his sons Christopher Rose, Nicholas Rose, and Michael Rose; his daughters DeEtta Rose and Michelle O’Byrne (Tim); granchildren, Kyle O’Byrne, Connor O’Byrne, Cameron O’Byrne, Rylee Pace, Starla Rose, Zachary Rose, Roman Rose and great grandaughter Haizley Ford. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Adelaide Aquiar and Shirley Rose.

George’s life was defined by service, hard work, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on November 2, 2025. Please contact a family member for details.
