Gizella Marie Lewis
Gizella Marie “Gizi” Lewis was born in Romania on September 25, 1993, and died in Pasco, WA on September 22, 2025. Gizi came to America as a 6-year-old in 2000, where she met her adoptive parents, Bob and Victoria Lewis. Gizi attended Jason Lee Elementary School, Sacajawea Elementary School, Oasis School, and Hanford High School in Richland; and for a few years, Gizi was homeschooled.
Gizi was a dancer. From early childhood, she loved to dance; Gizi studied at several local dance academies. As a teen, Gizi participated in recitals, performances at retirement homes and contests. Gizi was physically fearless, tackling rock climbing and trampoline activities with joy and enthusiasm.
Style and appearance were matters close to Gizi’s heart. She loved refining her makeup looks, creating attractive outfits, and styling and coloring her hair. She was always on trend and looking good, and she never turned down a gift card to the Ulta cosmetics shop.
Gizi had a strong social conscience. From her early years, she joined peace marches and protests organized by World Citizens for Peace. The group’s founder, Jim Stoffels, would become Gizi’s cherished “adopted grandfather”, a loving and steady presence during her life.
Gizi was very fond of classic movies, especially musicals, science fiction and fantasy TV shows. She enjoyed music, especially from the 80’s, and was a fan of live performances. As a child, Gizi performed in a local production of “The Music Man”.
Gizi loved animals, especially cats. She made friends easily and worked with both seniors and kids. The job she loved the best was children’s dance instructor, and her young pupils loved her, too.
Above all, Gizi was a kind person. She had a temper, but never intentionally hurt anybody. She kept a Facebook diary, and her videos always asked viewers to be kind to one another–but to speak up if they saw something wrong.
Gizi is survived by her mother, Victoria Josephine Dickson Lewis, and her father, Robert Ralph Lewis. She is also survived by aunts Susan Elizabeth Lewis DeBlis and Linda Chapman, uncles Richard Lee Dickson and Eugene Michael Dickson, and cousins.
We’re sorry for the loss of beautiful Gizi. She was a joy to her parents, family and friends. May your hearts be filled with all the good things about her.
I miss you sweetiebabychickiehoney
We were able to watch the beautiful memorial of Gizi.
She was one of our daughter’s first friends. Our families spent some memorable time at the Seattle Zoo, where Gizi and our daughter played on the giant rope spider web. Gizi inspired our daughter to climb, something still very much a part of her life. And who can forget the “canoe incident”?
It is so sad that Gizi left us at such an early age. She had so much to offer and she did, indeed, offer so much.
It is so sad for her parents, so devoted to providing a new life for Gizi on her arrival in the U.S.
The loving testimonials in slides and open mic brought many tears to our eyes. Her memory is a blessing.
We love and miss you Gizi!
Bob and Victoria, it was good to be with you today at the celebration of Gizi’s life. So many wonderful memories and images of her. She was a beautiful being and we will miss her. We carry her and you in our hearts.
Your laughter will be sorely missed! Rest in peace, my little niece!
