Nancy Shade
Nancy Oliver Shade born on May 3, 1941 in Cincinnati Ohio, peacefully passed away on October 16th, 2025.
Nancy went to high school in Cincinnati Ohio and graduated from Monroe High school. She continued her education at Miami University in Oxford Ohio studying geology.
Nancy met and married John Shade after graduating from Miami University. After John finished his education at Penn State, they moved to the tri cities area briefly before returning to Toledo Ohio where they welcomed their son, James Shade in 1970. After a few years, Nancy decided to go into accounting and took several courses at University of Toledo before returning to Washington state where they settled in Richland.
While completing her accounting degree at Central Washington University she did accounting for ViDA and began keeping books and administrating at Allied Arts Gallery where she worked until health issues restricted her from working full time. Nancy continued as a board member at Allied Arts.
Nancy is survived by her son James and his wife Marian, grandchildren Alyson, Zackary and Samantha Shade, all of Othello, sister Sue (Bob) Tracinski in Virginia, brother Bill Oliver in Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy enjoyed art, reading, cooking, traveling with family and playing bridge. She was an active member of several bridge groups in the tri cities area.
A celebration of life will be held at Einan’s Event Center on Saturday, November 22, 2025 @ 10 a.m. with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Allied Arts Gallery in Richland.
