Carla Janell Wheatley
Carla Janell Wheatley, born on October 16, 1952, in Sentinel, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Pasco, Washington. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Carla is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky Wheatley; her children, Sean Stockard and wife Wen, Kevin Stockard and wife Jessica, and Keely Sterba husband Matthew; her sister, Shirley George and husband Ron; her grandchildren Jessica Long, Kaden Stockard, Brice Weaver, Mira Sterba, Loralie Stockard, and Jaxon Stockard; as well as nieces Sondra Schauer, Ronda Boulds, and nephew Robby Schuller.
Carla was a retired individual who embraced life with a vibrant spirit. She cherished her time camping in her trailer, swimming in her pool, and enjoyed lunch outings with her daughter, sister, and nieces. Her love for the Oregon coast and the mountains reflected her appreciation for nature. Known for her infectious smile and a sense of humor that remained a hallmark of her character, Carla found joy in the simple things, often delighting in watching scary movies and spending quality time with her beloved dog, Reggie.
Yellow was her favorite color, embodying her warm personality, while Zinnias held a special place in her heart as her favorite flower. A woman of faith, she took solace in the Book of Psalms, finding inspiration and comfort in its verses. Carla’s presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love and laughter will forever resonate in their lives.
Carla was preceded in death by: Delbert Nugen, Sarah Nugen, Ronald Stockard, Delma Schuller, Bob Schuller, Chris Roaden, Michael Boulds.
I spent a lot of my childhood at Sean’s house. Karla was like a second mom to me growing up! I remember her always being happy and full of love! I don’t think she ever had a bad day! Lots of fond memories and I can still hear her laugh! Our thoughts and prayers are with Sean, Kevin, and Keely and their families!
She was an amazing mother. She loved her family and friends dearly. Her friends made in school from Echo were very dear to her. Her friends Diane Harris and Carol Ottmar were like sisters. Her husband Ricky and her children and grandchildren and sisters were life. Her, Ricky, Wen and I loved to travel together. From the Oregon Coast to New Orleans to New York to Washington, DC, every trip was full of fun and laughter. We’ll miss you dearly, mom but we’ll see you again soon.
Delbert & Sarah Nugen were her parents; Ronald Stockard was her high school sweetheart, first husband and father of her three children for 33 years; Delma & Robert Schuller were her Sister and BIL; Chris Roaden was her niece; and Michael Boulds was her nephew.
