Valerie Markel Welch, 64, of Richland, Washington, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born on November 5, 1961, in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she spent her early years before building a life rooted in love, family, and strength.

Valerie was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Daniel Welch, and a deeply loving mother to her three sons: Anthony Suarez, Avery Suarez, and Alexander Welch and a beloved “nana” to her beautiful grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world and she poured her heart into supporting, encouraging, and caring for them in countless ways throughout her life.

She is also survived by her brothers, Greg Markel and Bradley Markel, along with extended family members and many friends who will forever cherish her memory. Valerie was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering resilience. She touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Valerie’s memory will live on through the love she shared, the strength she showed, and the lives she shaped. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
