Belia González
August 14, 1937 – December 5, 2025
With deep sorrow and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our beloved Belia González, a devoted Christian woman, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Belia entered into the arms of her Savior on December 5. Her life was a testimony of unwavering faith, love, and grace.
Belia was born in Garza González, Nuevo León, México, to Domingo Garza and Servera De León de Garza. As a young girl, she moved with her family to El Rialito, Tamaulipas, where they became actively involved in their local church, Triunfo de la Fe Assembly of God. There, she began a lifelong journey of faith and service to the Lord.
At the age of 20, she met the love of her life, Abel González, whom she married on December 19, 1959, in a beautiful three-day celebration filled with joy, community, and deep devotion. Abel had lovingly built and furnished their first home with his own two hands, ready to welcome the life they would build.
Together, they were blessed with seven children. Their firstborn, Abelito, tragically lost his life one day before his fifth birthday. Despite the immense heartbreak, Belia remained anchored in her faith.
In search of a fresh start, the family moved to the United States, where they worked in agriculture before establishing a home in Mesa, Washington. There, they began a trucking business. They overcame the challenges of losing everything and having to start over after the 1979 Mesa flood. They worked for Doug Muse Farms picking asparagus for several years, eventually relocating to Basin City, then Clark’s Addition, and finally settling in Pasco and then Kennewick.
In 2010, they purchased their dream home in Kennewick, Washington, just one block from Blanca’s home—a blessing they had long hoped for. Heartbreakingly, Blanca passed away only two weeks later, becoming their second child they were called to release into the arms of Jesus.
Belia’s life was marked by her incredible strength, resilience, and service. She was an active member of Templo Betania Assembly of God Church in Pasco, Washington, for over 35 years. She joyfully served as a worship leader, Sunday school teacher, and in Women’s Ministries. Her faith permeated every aspect of her life—she was a prayer warrior, a selfless giver, and a model of Christian devotion.
A gifted cook, Belia’s home was the heart of many Sunday family gatherings. Her homemade tamales and warm hospitality are legendary among those who knew her. But more than anything, she will be remembered for her kind heart, her fierce love for her family, and her unwavering trust in the promises of God.
Belia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Domingo and Servera Garza; her siblings, Maria Antonia Gutierrez and Salvador Garza; and two of her children, Abelito Jr. and Blanca Torres.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Abel González; her children Gracie (Ismael), Samuel, Elizabeth (Dale), Araceli (Edi), and Erika (Keith); her siblings Domingo Garza Jr. and Severa Fuentes; her grandchildren Ismael II, Monique, Samuel Xavier, Bella Blanca, Gabriella Lynn, Jaclynn Araceli, Catherine Elizabeth, Adrien Edi, Isaiah Alvaro, Ezequiel Angelo, Alexander Jeffery, and Bianca Belia; and her great-grandchildren Vaden Hendrix, Scarlett Grace, and Lillian Jade.
Special Thanks
A note of deep gratitude to our father, Abel González, who loved and cared for Mom with unwavering devotion. His steadfast care brought her comfort and peace throughout her illness.
To Erika, our sister, words cannot express our thankfulness for your role as caretaker, healthcare agent, and, most of all, friend to Mom. Your years of faithful service and love will never be forgotten.
Belia González fought the good fight, kept the faith, and finished her race. Her legacy will live on in the lives of all she touched, and her spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
