Ayden Dean Hoff

Ayden Dean Hoff, 17, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025. He was born on September 25th, 2008 in Richland, Washington where he lived his whole life. He went to Sacajawea Elementary, Chief Joseph Middle School and was a junior at Hanford High School and was on the wrestling team.

More than anything Ayden loved time with family, his dad, Erik and stepmom, Jenni playing games, watching WSU and Packer games, family dinner night, and throwing a football with his little brother, Jack. He loved spending time with his grandparents, Dean and JoAnn playing games, watching every episode of Cobra Kai with his grandma, driving with his grandpa and working on their tans. He loved to help with everything from setting-up fundraisers for Children’s Hospital to hanging Christmas lights, and walking the older ladies like a true gentleman.

He loved scary movies and pizza night with his Aunt Kim and her dog, Nikki. He loved family get-togethers where he could laugh and hang out with his older cousins, Jessica and Tyler Tyrell, Linnea, Jose, Meghan, Braxton, Tyler, Grady, Matthew and little Landyn. He absolutely loved the beach with his family where he spent hours dodging waves, building sand castles, uprighting a giant log and burying himself up to his armpits before realizing that may not be the best plan. He and his aunt Stacey would frequently Snapchat dog pics of “poor Lucy” and “poor Bruno” or crack up laughing at morphed pics of each other.

He loved walks and time with his best friends Justin and Maddox where they would dream of their future lives together and motivate each other to work hard and strive to be better each day. He was always game for anything if it meant time with his loved ones.

Ayden loved his church, The Garden, where he built his relationship with God, going to men’s retreats with his uncle Ryan and his cousin Grady. It was here that he caught his first fish, almost won the poker tournament and built many strong relationships.

Ayden is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Perry and Josephine Bushnell, John and Elizabeth Hoff, and his beloved grandfather Tom Ackerman. He is survived by his parents, Erik and stepmom Jenni and little brother Jack. His grandparents Dean and JoAnn Hoff, Suzy Ackerman, Aunt Kim, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Stacey, cousins Kevin and Jenna Hoff, Ethan Cadick, Tyler and Jessica Tyrell, Linnea and Jose Pelayo, Meghan and Braxton Swarner, Grady Hoff, Tyler and Matthew Carlson and numerous nieces and nephews.

All who knew him will remember his readiness to help out, and his kind heart. His quick wit would frequently catch you off guard with a joke and a twinkle of his blue eyes. There simply are not enough words to describe the impact Ayden made on our lives and the hole he left in our hearts. His smile will live on with us forever and memories of him will brighten our darkest days.

If you ever asked him how he was, he would always respond, “I’m good” even when he wasn’t.  We now know that he is living his best life in heaven and if we could ask him how he is, we would believe him when he says, “I’m good.”

There will be a celebration of Ayden’s life on December 27th at 1:00pm at The Garden Tricities church at 6811 W. Okanogan Place, Kennewick, Washington. In lieu of flowers there is a gofundme set up if you would like to contribute to memorial expenses. https://gofund.me/fb7313260
