Craig Goodey
On Dec. 12, 2025, Craig Barson Goodey, beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather left this life after a long illness at home in Benton City, Washington. Craig was born on October 8, 1943 as a twin with his sister Carmen in Logan, Utah to Barson Alma and Phyllis Anderson Goodey. Their older sister of three years, Meredith Ann Goodey (Wong Dock), passed in 2005.
He has been a faithful and devout 5th generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life. He has served in many callings of service and leadership.
His younger school and growing up years were in Boise, Idaho. After his parents’ divorce, he attended schools in other Idaho communities as the family moved. During this time, he lived four full years with his grandparents in Nampa, Idaho on their large dairy ranch. Craig developed a love for animals and farming during this time. During his youngest years, he and his siblings spent many summer weeks with their grandparents in Clarkston, Utah bonding closely with cousins.
Craig and Carmen together as twins graduated from East Side High School in 1961 in Madison, Wisconsin while their mother finished a master’s degree at the Univ. of Wisconsin.
After graduating, Craig served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 full years. His integrity of character resulted in him serving as an OSI Agent (Office of Security Investigation). He served in many U.S. Air Force bases as well as in Okinawa and Korea. It was during these years he met and married his 1st wife, Gwen Johnson of McCammon, Idaho. His daughter, Klisse Goodey (Foster)(1969) of Indiana was born when stationed in Okinawa. Sixteen months later they were blessed with a son, Michael Craig Goodey, (1970) of Oregon, who was born in Grand Rapids, North Dakota.
After honorably retiring from the Air Force (1985), he served as a law enforcement officer in Idaho and later was in investigations for many years at Handford in Washington state. In 2001 he married Cindy Knight Huntsman Butler, a mother of 8 children. They have been married almost 25 years, enjoying retirement on a small farm with orchards and animals.
Craig loved hunting, fishing and collecting extensive equipment to support those activities.
Craig is the father of two, grandfather of eight and a beloved uncle of nieces and nephews. He is survived by his loving wife Cindy, Carmen (Jones) his twin sister; his son Michael and daughter Klisse , grandchildren as well as Cindy’s children.
