Will never forget Mami’s kindness in coming and getting me from college , my first Diwali in the USA. She had gotten me a dress as well. We all watched Pappu’s high school graduation recording on TV and Pardes. Pappu not missing a beat in teasing mami non stop and her dishing it right back at him! . Strong, full of life and present – She will always be watching over you – Pappu, Radhika, Adu and Anusha. Our deepest condolences
This is longer than I expected it’d be.. sorry
To know my Pemma was to know confidence, and an unapologetic authenticity, and the most dumb little jokes. She was kind, genuine, and steadfast in who she was, and she showed up in my life in ways that went far beyond just an aunt. I once in anger told her “you’re not my mom” and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so upset with me- and rightly so! In truth, she played all the parts that my own mom did and maybe only came in second to her (sorry Appa). She was always a constant presence in my life and helped shaped me into who I am today. I will miss her so much more than I know how to put in words.
We will miss you Aunty. RIP.

My darling sister Girija – my partner in crime, my confidante, my rock is no more. She passed after a valiant two month battle with the dreaded disease called Cancer. A very healthy, health conscious, disciplined, fun loving person – the rock amongst all us siblings and extended family – was out of the blue struck by lightning – Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer diagnosed in mid-October and gone on December 14. Life indeed dealt a brutal kick in the pants – but I know she is in a better place and at peace. Farewell dearest sister – you will be missed forever. Sending you endless love and hugs as you transcend to the next realm. RIP DEAREST SIS. Love you loads 🕉️ Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthihi

Dear Girija Atthai,
It has truly been an inspiring honor to have nit just known you but met and spent many days and night together in ur presence. The conversations, the funny banter and soo many other things we shared were all a true gift. We know you are very much around and hence we won’t mourn your leaving the physical plane rather we will celebrate the new astral plane where you have just entered. We love you!!

Girija Mami was a woman of remarkable capabilities—resilient, compassionate, and deeply devoted to her family and friends. She extended unwavering support and kindness to all who sought her help. In every role she embraced, she exemplified grace and dedication—a devoted mother, a caring sister, a loving grandmother, and a treasured friend whose warmth touched many lives.
She will be deeply missed by all of us but will continue to live on in our hearts and memories. Our heartfelt condolences to all near and dear. We pray for her Sadgati!
