Laura Flanders
Laura Grace (Reagan) Flanders, 56, passed away on December 21, 2025, in Richland, Washington. She was born on October 11, 1969, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Tommy and Susan Reagan. Laura attended school in Aberdeen and graduated in 1988. Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kyle Flanders; her sons, Erik (Sophia) Hansen and Aiden (Shay) Hansen; her brothers, Kevin (Debbie) Gallanger and Kelly (Keri) Reagan; her in-laws, Ron and Coleen Foreman; her brother-in-law, Jeff Flanders; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved horse, Goob. Horses were Laura’s greatest passion from a very young age. She first sat on a horse at just eight months old and remained devoted to them throughout her life. She participated in 4-H, showing horses, and later traveled to smaller horse shows throughout Washington and Oregon, where she showed her mother’s American Saddlebred. After her sons were born, Laura developed a strong interest in barefoot trimming and spent years learning the craft. Through this work, she helped many friends care for the health and well-being of their animals’ feet. Laura was always willing to lend a hand. She assisted friends and their children at the fair, hauled horses when needed, and often served as a trusted “barn mom.” She was someone people could always rely on in times of need. In addition to her love of horses, Laura enjoyed hunting, camping, target practice, attending “chick camp,” and tending to the ranch on her tractor. She and her husband Kyle also shared a love of autocross racing and spent time racing her MR2 together. Laura took square dance lessons with her sons and parents, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Laura deeply loved and valued her many friendships. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as she touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others. Family and friends will celebrate Laura’s incredible life on May 9, 2026, at Einan’s at Sunset Event Center in Richland, Washington. A GoFundMe has been established on Facebook for those who wish to donate. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Kadlec for their excellent care and the compassion they showed Laura.
Precious, beautiful Laura, You were the first baby I got to hold, love and be in awe of. Your parents were so proud of their baby Girl as they traveled to N.C. for us to meet you all. I know You are in the presence of Jesus and Your Grandmother Laura who is there with You awaiting our arrival. My Deepest Sympathy for all Your Family and Friends. Until we meet again, much love, Aunt Alice Parlier
I appreciate and respect Laura’s zest for life, endless optimism and cheerfulness. She was and continues to be a credit to her family, and will be gratefully remembered by all who experienced the warmth of her personality. Laura’s sons Erik and Aidan are my nephews, and are both fine young men.
Laura, words really cannot describe how angry and sad I am that you passed so soon. My heart breaks for your husband Kyle, your sons Erik and Aidan and the rest of your family. I know Goob will miss you, for he loved being your horse. Thank you for the friendship, the laughs, the wisdom and the care of my horses. May God bless and keep you. I know Fatima met you at the gates of Heaven. Love you!
The news of Laura’s premature death is so sad. She was a great neighbor and a friend to myself and my animals she trimmed with such love and care. She was particularly fond of my BLM young donkey. There was never a time that’s she didn’t hug and kiss him.
I feel like I know many of her family members because she always included them with love and humor as she did the trimming. And I always could be sure she would share pictures before she drove off to her next appointment .
I appreciated all that she taught me
I met Laura when she was first learning the Barefoot trimming. She did such a wonderful job on my riding horse, and then the pony’s and my donkey! They all Loved her! She was always joy to visit with when she showed up! I am shocked and heart broken at such a huge loss! R.I.P. Laura!
I remember Laura as happy-go-lucky and caring.
I really enjoyed going horse camping or on day trips with Laura and her mom. The most memorable ride was when we rode back home with icicles hanging from our helmets from freezing rain 🌧.
I will miss her dearly.
Laura is and will always be my cool aunt. Through horses and dancing and all our fun adventures. 16 years with you will never be enough. Your Cafrin loves you!!!
My prayers are with you all.
May God be with you.
A blessing to know you for over 18 years. A blessing to have you travel so far to trim my horses feet. A look at your hospital room shows you are loved by many my tough, sweet friend. Rest in peace and know you left a legacy of kindness behind. Your family is blessed to have had you in their lives. We will miss you forever.
A lady and friend who will be missed forever. A fantastic farrier and a great l9ss to the horses who were in her care.
