John Scott Schug

John Scott Schug, age 67, passed away on February 22nd, 2026, in Tri-Cities, Washington. John was born in Ozark, Alabama on July 9th, 1958. Even though John resided in Washington State for over 30 years he was so proud to be born and raised in Alabama (Roll Tide!).

John came to Washington state working as a lineman for WACO construction and then as a mechanic for Les Schwab.

John loved spending time with his wife Jody, family, friends, and beloved dog Lucy.

John had a deep faith and attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Richland. He also loved using his mechanical skills to build classic cars. He loved golf and playing pool with his friend Doug. In his later years he discovered joy in building and flying RC airplanes with his AMA RC club members.

John is survived by his wife Jody, daughter Sheri, grandsons JC, Joe, Spencer and Timmy, Granddaughter Cheyenne, along with several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin sister Lori, brother Bernie, sisters in law Stephenie, Linda, Kelly, Georgia, Connie, and Darlene, and brothers in law Jerry, Charlie, and Ron, as well as his best friend Doug.

John was preceded in death by his parents Margoret and Verdell, brother Gary, and daughter Heather.
