Martha Boss

In Loving Memory of Martha Boss

Martha Boss, age 82, passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026.

Born in Yakima, Washington and raised on a farm in Granger, Washington, Martha lived a life rooted in faith, determination and deep love for her family. She trusted deeply in God’s guidance through every season of her life and approached everything with positivity, strength and humor.

Martha was married to Don Boss for 39 years before he passed and together, they lived an active and adventurous life. They lived in many different places including Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Utah and Nevada. Martha was glamourous and classy, but also comfortable riding a horse or shucking corn. She loved walking, reading, and embracing new experiences. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Buttons, whose companionship brought her daily happiness for many years. Whether enjoying a quiet moment with a book, shopping, playing the piano, doing yard work or trying something new, she approached life with enthusiasm and energy.

Martha built a respected career in the mortgage industry, serving as an executive for many years. Through hard work, integrity, and leadership, she earned the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Above all, Martha was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly survived by her siblings, Ernest, Marjorie, Marilyn and Dale and by her four daughters: Tammy Stark; Laura (Shea) Caperoon; Danette Boss; and Sheri (Mike) Byther. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Steve Boss; Laurie Boss; James Boss; Casey (Sheri) Boss; and Cory Boss. Her legacy continues through her 27 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Helen Leach; her husband Don Boss, her sister Marie Smith; her brother David Leach; her brother-in-law Jim Cannon; her sister-in-law Janet Leach; and her grandson Brady Byther.

Martha’s remarkable strength and steady presence will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, independence, positivity and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A memorial service celebrating Martha’s life and faith will be held on March 21, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 15815 SE 37th St, Bellevue, WA 98006.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Martha’s love, faith, and legacy will remain in our hearts until we are reunited again.

The family suggests that those wishing to make a donation in Martha’s memory consider supporting the Yakima Gospel Mission, at 1300 N 1st St, Yakima, WA 98901 or online at Donate – Yakima Union Gospel Mission (yugm.org/donate/), a ministry Martha regularly supported.
