Peter Vermeulen
Pete was born in Billings, Montana, to Shaaron and Andre Vermeulen. There they lived for the
first eight years of his life until they relocated to the Tri-Cities, Washington, in 1969.
Pete attended Kamiakin High School, where he graduated in 1980. He started his lifelong
career with Pepsi even before graduating high school. His career would span over 48 years of
commitment and dependability. During those years Pete formed many meaningful friendships
and connections. He was casually known by friends, family, and co-workers as “Pepsi Pete” or
“2-Liter Peter”.
In 2002, Pete and Tammie found each other, and their love story began, a journey into a life
filled with love, laughter and family was their cornerstone of existence. They enjoyed camping,
fishing, NASCAR, Seahawks games, country music and going on vacations.
In 1988 Pete was blessed with the birth of his daughter Chelsey. Later he would be blessed
with three stepchildren Keshia, Cameron and Mikhaila. And eventually he became grandpa or
“Papa Peach” to Taelynn, Isaac, Teagan and Knox.
Pete had a lifelong passion for fishing; he spent many days out on the water looking for good
fishing holes. For many years he participated in walleye tournaments where he enjoyed the
close friendships of the fishing community. The time he spent on the water brought him both
peace and purpose, and the friendships he built there became some of the most cherished of
his life.
After a year and a half battle with Liver Cancer and Cirrhosis, Pete passed peacefully at his
home with his wife by his side.
Having Pete in our lives was an honor. We will all miss that twinkle in his eyes and radiant
smile, especially when the conversation turned to fishing, Seahawks, or Tammie’s cooking.
Pete is preceded in death by his father, Andre Vermeulen. He is survived by his wife, Tammie
Vermeulen, Mother Shaaron Peil; sister Liz Norton; daughter, Chelsey Chartrand; stepchildren,
Keshia Jalkson, Cameron Johnson, Mikhaila Hopkins; and grandchildren Taelynn, Isaac,
Teagan and Knox.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Einan’s Funeral Home

Thank you for sharing Peter with us, we will miss him. I was so hopeful for more than a year that he would beat his prognosis. He was always very thoughtful and considerate.
we wish we could be with you and your family for this special celebration of life, love and family for pete
One of the best friends I had in my younger years. You and your Dad were always catching more fish than anyone I knew. Wish you would have went to KHS so we could have stayed good friends and caught em together. You will be missed Pete. 🎣
