Vincent FitzPatrick
Vincent Frank FitzPatrick passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in West Richland, WA, at the age of 86.
Born on December 22, 1939, in Little Falls, NY, to George and Frances FitzPatrick, Vince lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, outdoor recreation, and an abiding admiration for all things Hawaii.
In August 1984, he married the love of his life, Sally. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in their shared passions for skiing, camping, fishing, and traveling, always finding their way back to their favorite island paradise.
Vince was a man of energy and discipline, well-remembered for the seasonal rituals that defined his household, from his rigorous preparation for ski season, complete with mandatory wall sits and long hours spent waxing skis, to his legendary mastery of the grill. His family will always associate him with being willing to bait the worm on the hook, the scent of his famous venison shepherd’s pie, the taste of his salty deer jerky and tuna steaks, and the joy of sharing a hearty batch of huckleberry pancakes or his signature Cheddar Tater Bake. No matter the time of year or the temperature outside, he could almost always be found winding down his evening with a steaming cup of hot cocoa.
An avid athlete throughout his life, Vince was a fixture on the tennis and racquetball courts. However, his greatest athletic joy was found in the snow as he was a passionate downhill and cross-country skier. This hobby he and Sally shared deeply meant they spent countless winters traversing trails and mountainsides side-by-side.
Vince is now at peace, reunited with his beloved wife, Sally, who preceded him in death in June 2025.
Through the years Vince, and Sally, were dear close friends of mine. I met Vince while working several technology workshops across the nation, which grew into a beautiful personal friendship. I especially enjoyed long conversations with Vince who always boiled down complicated subjects to succinct conclusions. He made me think! We had numerous ski trips in four states and Canada; along with several camping trips & amazing home BBQ’s. We attended several years of Bible Study with Vince & Sally, including long debriefs which always brought joy & love to our hearts. Vince loved his children & never missed an opportunity to share just how much enjoyed their talents & memorable events.
His legacy will live on for several generations. He and Sally are reunited.
