Eleanor Elberg, age 85, passed away July 7, 2001, at the Life Care Center of Richland.
Eleanor is survived by her four grandchildren: Michael Treadwell of San Diego, California, Diane Treadwell Denning of Kennewick, Washington, Dee Laine Treadwell Stewart of San Diego, California, and Nathan Swann of Lampe, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in law, Tony and Evelyn Elberg, Dickinson, North Dakota; son-in-law, Lloyd Swann, Lampe, Missouri; and niece, Mavis Immegart, Scottsdale, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Elberg, daughters, Marion Elberg and Joanne Treadwell Swann, sister, Lillian Koenig and parents, Arthur E. and Christine Erickson.
Eleanor was born March 20, 1916, in Valley City, North Dakota. She married John Elbert and the couple later moved to Bremerton, Washington and then on to the Tri-Cities, Washington where she resided since 1955 and was employed on the Hanford site. Eleanor also worked for the J.C. Penney Company and Safeway Corporation in Richland, Washington.
She was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church where she was actively involved in the Leisure Club. Eleanor was also an excellent homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, playing Pinochle and spending quality time with her family and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Einans Funeral Home. The Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Richland. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland.
Visitation will be at Einans from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Your loved one and grandmother is an wonderful example of a “real Lady” I worked at the Elections with her for several years and she often spoke about her dear family and friends and how much they meant to her. Do not forget your wonderful memories.
