Denver J. Jones
On August 13, 2001, Denver Jay Jones, 82, of Richland, WA lost a 9-week battle with lung cancer at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, Kennewick.
He was born January 2, 1919, in Grove, Oklahoma and had lived in the Tri-Cities since 1947.
Mr. Jones was a power operator with 34 years on the job. He had been retired for 20 years during which he was happier than ever and enjoyed traveling and fishing.
He leaves behind four grieving children, grandchildren, a brother and a sister. His children are daughter, Sue Yates of Oklahoma City, OK; sons, Bob Jones of Oklahoma City, OK, Richard Jones of Spokane, WA and Harvey Jones of Richland, WA. Siblings are sister, Olive McCune of Wichita, KS; and brother, Bill Jones of Athol, ID.
Denver was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jones, brother, James Jones, sister, Pauline Brainard, and long time companion, Reba Loman.
Interment will be in Oklahoma. There will be no services locally.
During Dads 3-week stay at Hospice House, he received the finest care a person could have in making his last days as comfortable as possible in a home like setting. I wish to personally thank Sherry, Sara, Sue, Judy, Cindy, Joan, Jeaninne, Bonnie, Jessica, Pat, Daina, Dinah, Joanie, Jean, Valerie, and any others I have forgotten for their endless supply of love and tenderness.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat Ave. Kennewick, WA 99336-3000.
Denver was a dear man to take care of at the hospice house. It was very easy to give him the care he deserved. I really enjoyed him. My sympathies to the whole family.
