Robert Lee Huff
Robert L. Huff was born at Harrisonburg, LA on October 25, 1920. He went to spend the rest of eternity with Jesus his Lord and savior and very best friend on October 9, 2001. This is a time of rejoicing, the race has ended, the goal is attained. He awaits his friends and family to join him.
Robert enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Dec. 7, 1937 and served until March 18, 1946. The first four years in the Marines were a time of maturing, learning, challenge and good times. During WWII the good times were set aside for serious effort in liberating Guam and taking Iwo Jima from the Japanese in the Pacific theater. Following discharge from the Marines, he attended the University of Denver and graduated on June 8, 1951 with a BS in BA.
In August 1954 he came to Richland, WA to work at the Hanford Project manufacturing reactor fuel. Following shutdown of the project, he worked for the Washington Public Power System for 12.5 years until his retirement in 1985.
As a member of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, he worked with chapter members to establish a twenty-four hour Christian TV station in Richland which is affiliated with the Trinity Broadcasting Network. The station provides a wide range of Christian programs for people to accept Jesus as Lord and for spiritual growth.
He said, '' The greatest honor and privilege in my life is to know and to serve the eternal sovereign creator God who loved me enough to become my savior and redeemer. I want everyone to rejoice at my absence for as St. Paul said...''TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD''. I go ahead but soon you will join me at the rapture, whish is very imminent. Until them know that I love you and that God loves you much more. GOD BLESS YOU.''
Robert passed peacefully with Gladys, his wife of 54 years, and Rodney, his yougest son, by his side. He is remembered and survived by wife, Gladys M. Huff and children; Garland R., Gregory R., Renee M., Sandra K. Rind, Jody A., Valerie L. Bragg, Jeffrey M., and Rodney P. and 30 grandchildren. Kevin R. was called to be with the Lord on January 1, 1993. Robert also leaves his sisters Sharel Sargent, and Fay McMillan, Harrisonburg, LA.
