EINAN’S FUNERAL HOME Robert George Geier, 80, of Richland, was born to George and Minnie Radtke Geier on April 18, 1921, in Rochester, New York and died Tuesday, December 11, 2001, in Kadlec Medical Center.

 Dr. Geier was a Chemical Engineer at Hanford until retiring from Westinghouse in 1991.

Robert received his B.S., M.S. and PhD. from Pennsylvania State University with a Phi Beta Kappa in Chemical Engineering. He married Elizabeth Jane Smith in July 1945 and moved to Richland in 1953.

He was a member of the Rose Society, and he loved traveling, stamp collecting and crossword puzzles.

Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Geier of Richland; 3 daughters, Carol Geier and husband, Ron Melton, of Richland, Susan Geier and husband, David Borg-Breen, of Seattle, and Cathy Geier of Seattle; son, James Geier of San Diego, CA; 4 grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Timothy and Elisabeth; and a brother, Douglas Geier of Florida.

The Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2001, at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
