Emmett O. Hathcox

Emmett O. Hathcox, 70, of Benton City, Washington passed away at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House on December 15, 2001.

He was born on February 2, 1931 in Tyler, Texas, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1952. Emmett has resided in Washington State for 19 years, the last three and a half in Benton City, and was an Equipment Coordinator for Royal Pacific Orchard since 1989.

Emmett married Marsha Lawell in 1998 and they resided on a 5 acre farm outside Benton City raising Ostriches. He was a loving, kind husband, father, grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

His job and working on his farm were labors of love to him, working right up until his illness prevented him physically. His friends knew him to be generous, always willing to share whatever he had. His hobbies were fishing, woodworking and most of all- his family.

Emmett is survived by his loving wife Marsha; children, Brenda CottenPasco, Robin Hathcox, Othello,Pamela Ware Pasco, Linda Gutierrez and husband Chava Royal City, WA, Robert Hathcox and wife Stephanie St. Joseph, MO, Cathy Jo Hathcox Othello step-sons, Corey Stratton and wife Kim Benton City, Craig Stratton and wife Cynthia Mammoth, AZ, sisters, Victorene Gaines Flint, TX, Vodis Moore Tyler, TX, brother, Donald Hathcox Andrew, TX 14 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and faithful dog, Rose.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarabelle Young Hathcox, father, William Hathcox, daughter, Rebecca Hathcox, grandson, Robert Hathcox Jr., great-grandson, Johnathan Ware,great-granddaughter, Kathren Hollenback, and son-in-law, James Cotten.

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday December 18, 2001 at 3:00 P.M. at Einan’s Funeral Home. Viewing will be held from 9am to 1pm on Tuesday December 18, 2001.
